Mission Statement

Restore Cleveland Hope was created to celebrate the heroic spirit of the Underground Railroad (UGRR) by researching and retelling the stories of Cleveland’s rich anti-slavery past. We believe the struggle for freedom from enslavement is a history that must be told. Our goal is to share the inspiring stories of Freedom Seekers and those who risked everything to help them.

We offer educational programs for both adults and children and provide a venue for open dialogue about how this history shapes our lives today. Our mission is not just to preserve this important history, but to build a true community—The Beloved Community envisioned by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
